“Very Friendly Stay. We stayed two nights in Ballarat. We were very impressed with The Menzies. From very modern rooms to great managers and good central location. This motel defines how good service makes such a difference. Highly recommend!”
Arton, March 2017

“Apartment Stop Over. Made a phone enquiry and nothing was too much of a problem, great service and they managed to find an upstairs/downstairs 2 bedroom apartment for us, compact, pristine and lovely accommodation, Service and friendliness at front of desk was great, advice on eating was ‘On the Money’, thoroughly recommended…”

“Great Managers, will stay again. After a huge mistake made by a major booking agent, the managers of this motel were so apologetic and so helpful I couldn’t have had more genuine and professional people running this motel.  Rhonda and Kevin Bradmore were employed to fill in while the owner managers were away.  So they were just as disappointed as we were when we found out that the room that was booked for us could only accommodate 2 adults and 2 children. We booked for 5 adults and 2 children. I was told there were no rooms in this complex that holds 7 people. Two of my family members had taken time off work to be here in Ballarat for the weekend and as people know Ballarat is totally booked out on weekends between January and February.  After 2 hours of conversing back and forth with the booking agent, the owner managers, Rhonda and Kevin there was no available rooms anywhere. Eventually Rhonda and Kevin came up with an idea that worked great in our favour. The motel it self was clean, modern and catered for all our wants and needs. Check out the motel on line you won’t be disappointed. My daughter and I are going to stay there for a week for a girls week away, can’t wait. I’d like to publicly thank them for all their help. Thank you.

Very Impressed. My friends and I stayed recently as we were attending a concert in Ballarat.  We were very impressed with the rooms as they were very clean (we can be quite fussy around cleanliness!!) but we were all impressed with the rooms and would stay here again. Judy was extremely helpful and went out of her way to assist us with taxis etc – nothing was too much trouble! The accommodation is close to the town centre if you are looking to go for a walk around the town – perfect location. It is also very quiet and you didn’t hear any street noise.  Thank you Judy & team – we were very happy!

Very Pleasant Stay.We only had one night here but it was very good. Very helpful and friendly staff who paid attention to our ever need. Brought breakfast to our suite and recommended the towns attractions. Private parking.
Sue & Ken, January 2017

Fantastic place to stay, especially those with a family. After we were not allowed to stay at another hotel in Ballarat as we had children, we made a last minute booking to stay at Menzies. I can only say that in the end we are amazingly happy with the change of venues, as the original motel had a surly and rude owner whilst we were immediately greeted warmly by the receptionist upon arrival and were treated amazingly by all staff and the owners for the entire stay. We actually extended our stay by a further 4 days we were so comfortable. We stayed in a duplex which had a lounge, kitchen, toilet and bunk beds downstairs, perfect for families with kids. The upstairs had a master suite inclusive of a large spa bath that the kids loved. The location of the hotel is great as is only a couple of minutes walks to the bridge mall shopping area, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and we will continue to use on return visits. It always feels better giving your money to good people like at Menzies rather than some rogues out there! Stayed January 2017, travelled with family.

Quality in Name and Nature. Stayed here recently for 4 nights (have stayed here previously) and again were delighted. Room was very spacious and larger than most motel rooms (35sq m approx), more like an apartment. The room had an excellent firm, flat bed with soft mattress topper, good quality sofa and other furnishings, well fitted-out kitchenette with full-sized fridge, microwave, quality cutlery etc. Bathroom was very modern, spacious and stylish, with quality towels etc. Our room (at rear) was very quiet. Inner city location is close to Mall, shops and station, and Ballarat has so much to see and do. The hosts, Judy and Anthony, are very friendly and helpful and run a very well maintained motel which is one of the best anywhere. Very polished with so much attention to detail. Quality in name and nature. We will certainly stay here whenever we are in Ballarat.

“Weekend Stay. Central location, made it easy to reach all our destinations and within walking distance of the CBD. Rooms were clean and our bed was very comfortable. Customer service was excellent and the staff were courteous and went out of there way to help.”
Smit, November 2016

Close. Quiet. Clean. We stayed overnight to visit the Bendigo Art Gallery and found this accommodation to be conveniently located to the centre of Ballarat. It is modern, clean and in a quiet location. The room is large with a kitchen area and the bathroom is a good size and much better appointed than most. Importantly too, the bed was very comfy. There are restaurants close-by.
Christine, November 2016

“Good Location. Not our first trip to Ballarat, which we love, but our first time at the Quality Inn and were very happy with everything. Clean comfortable room, very friendly and obliging receptionist who delivered breakfast to our room. Good location in that we could walk around the Bakery Hill area and not have to take the car out all the time.  My only concern was that the car park was a bit squeezy, but other than that, we were very happy and comfortable in our room.”
Dorothy, October 2016

“A good choice. This fairly modern motel situated in Ballarat ‘a Bakery Hill is clean, quiet and comfortable. The beds are especially luxurious. Management is pleasant and responsive. Although there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk the onsite Asahi Japanese Restaurant is excellent.”
Anonymous, October 2016

“Useful laundry. I have to confess that I didn’t like Ballarat, it seems an odd choice for a tour of Victoria, only saving grace is that it breaks up the drive back to the airport. The room service does not provide free coffee, really sad that you’d have to pay for coffee pods which I refused to do on principle . The laundry is good though and I managed to catch up with 2 weeks of washing. The wifi is good and free as well. Room itself comfortable enough but I was glad to leave . Hotel is within easy reach of centre of town, but nothing of interest there, it’s all a bit industrial.”
Rob, October 2016

“Comfortable and Friendly. I stayed here whilst working in Ballarat and would certainly return again. The room was spotless and comfortable – with the touches that make a real difference, like a decent sized desk with a good lamp and plenty of power sockets, really good pillows on the bed, and a Nespresso machine. The hosts were very friendly and pleasant. I ordered room service from the japanese restaurant next door which was delicious – as was my room service breakfast, with particularly good coffee. Would highly recommend”
AJ, Octoberber 2016

“Nice stay here for work!I stayed for business for two weeks at this motel. It’s a mid-sized motel with various room types. I stayed in a double-story townhouse which had two bedrooms (one main with queen upstairs, one downstairs with two single bunks), and a generous sized spa bathtub.  Room was well appointed, perfectly clean and in excellent condition. The staff were lovely to deal with, from the owners of the property to the cleaning staff.  Its location is excellent, just a 7 minute stroll to the heart of Ballarat and easily accessible from the train station. You don’t really need a car if you’re just exploring Ballarat town, as everything is close-by.  Rooms have mini-bar and breakfast is available. There is a separately owned Japanese restaurant attached to the motel. WiFi was free and high speed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, and highly recommend it.”
Kent, September 2016

“Top Notch! As all ways the hosts were fantastic, room was big, had everything you needed, breakfast was very filling and tasty, plenty of dinner options within walking distance, very quiet, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, highly recommend.”
Gerald, September 2016

“Highly recommended. We are currently staying in Room 15. A spacious and beautifully refurbished room which is relaxing and cosy. The heater and electric blankets make it very comfortable on this chilly Ballarat night. Lovely bathroom with great MOR products. Breakast delivered to our room was most welcome and the kitchenette facilities great. FOXTEL and excellent WiFi is making for a relaxing stay. Would not stay anywhere else when next in Ballarat.”
Selena, August 2016

“Basic but clean, the bed was comfortable, the service was good. It is a great location, McDonalds and the main shopping area of Ballarat are just around the corner. Nice big bath tub that the children loved.”
Regina, July 2016

“Wonderful Experience. We stayed with our daughter and her family in the town houses, after a lovely cold day at sovereign hill, It was lovely to come back and our rooms were warm and cosy as the heating had been turned on while we were out.”
Allana, July 2016

“Location! Very good location central to some good Cafes & restaurants. Our room was big, clean & comfortable although a little tired. Staff were friendly & helpful. We didn’t get breakfast but staff always helped when we had questions”
Robert, July 2016

“4Ps. Parking, Pleasant, Peaceful, Praiseworthy! Stopped at Ballarat on way back to Melbourne Airport, the apartment was very spacious, comfortable, clean and warm. The free wifi was very useful in looking for places to visit while in the area although the receptionist was excellent and soon suggested some local places to visit. Situated in the town centre it was also near local takeaways and restaurants. A short drive away is Sovereign Hill an award winning outdoor museum of life in Ballarat in the Goldrush Days.”
Talisman, July 2016

“Helpful, thoughtful staff. We needed somewhere to stay after a long and stressful trip. The staff could not have been more helpful. The receptionist made arrangements to meet all of our needs and the cleaner was very happy to come back later when we needed a bit more time. Our room was clean, spacious and warm and the bed was very comfortable. We couldn’t hear anything from other rooms at any time. The free wifi worked well. Free parking was available right outside our door. The location is good – walking distance from eat in and takeaway dining options. It’s also a short drive (or comfortable walk, for those of us who like to walk) to the town centre. The only thing I would say is that the shower, with a door across the corner, felt small. We are both small people so it was okay but it would present difficulties for a large person.”
Jo, July 2016

“Central Location. My daughter and I spent one night in a 2 bedroom apartment. The lady at reception was friendly and helpful. The apartment had a kitchenette, lounge area, a powder room and a bedroom upstairs with a full bathroom. The 2nd bedroom downstairs was tiny with bunks. I slept on the bottom bunk and it was very comfortable. The breakfast was quite substantial and perfectly cooked. The inn is very close to the Bridge Street Mall.”
Caroline, July 2016

“Weekend Away. Good central location, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms modern and very clean and breakfast included. It was middle of winter very cold it was nice to come back to room and the heater was on nice and warm. will stay here again”
Luke, July 2016

“All I can say was a good experience during stay at Quality Inn & Suites The Menzies. Judy & her husband was very accommodating. Everyday 2 hours before coming back to the hotel Judy & her husband turn the heater so the room will be warm when I got back to the hotel. I enjoy my stay in the Menzies. I will truly recommend to all my friends & family to stay at Menzies.”
Vicki, June 2016

“Faultless! It’s central to everything. It’s clean. It’s quiet. It’s luxurious… I enjoyed the spa, the huge TV, understated decor, very large room, Mor toiletries, well equipped kitchenette, subtle lighting, quiet heating, excellent friendly service and advice, comfortable bedding….I enjoyed the whole experience. I left the car at the motel and walked everywhere. It was only a three night stay… I would have loved to have stayed a week. It was faultless.”
Anonymous, June 2016

“Highly Recommended. The location was great, the beds were so comfy and could be heated on a cold winter day. The room for a triple was huge! The room had an adequately equipped kitchenette. Judy was friendly and helpful.”

“Best Accommodation in Ballarat. This Motel ticks all the boxes and more. Exceptional service, quality of room and amenities is fantastic, location, friendly staff and the breakfast was just perfect. Central location is handy to everything. We booked a family room which was very spacious with really comfortable new beds, large bathroom and handy kitchenette with coffee maker. We will definitely be returning to the QI Menzies”
Jamie, June 2016

“In the Heart of Ballarat. In the heart of town, clean, cosy and the comfiest bed anywhere. Close to the Bridge Mall and Sturt St for restaurants and shopping and lots of local attractions. 10 minute walk to the train station if you want to leave the car home”
Michael, June 2016

“Great Stay. Spacious modern room and appliances. Everything works. Bed was so so comfy. Very well equipped with drinks and snacks if required. Good location. Close to good pubs.Great heating as ballarat is freezing in winter.”

“Great Motel. Excellent overall experience. Beautiful spacious room, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed. This motel is in a very convenient location you can walk to restaurants and shopping centre. A very nice Japanese restaurant onsite. We would stay again.”
Brian , May 2016

“A great weekend away. The Menzies hotel is located at one end of the shopping precinct, and is walking distance from historic Lydiard Street and the shops and dining venues in the centre of town. Free parking and wifi, modern, clean rooms and good service made this an attractive stay. Our room had a kitchenette. There was a Japanese restaurant on site where we enjoyed eating. This hotel gives a discount for Seniors, too.”
Dam, May 2016

“Very convenient. Stayed in a two bedroom apartment for three nights. We were made to feel very welcome. First bedroom a spacious loft style. Second bedroom small and has bunks but with only one person in it was fine. Both with ensuites. Well equiped kitchenette and comfy living space had everything we needed for both business and pleasure. Easy walking distance to train station, main shopping precinct and also to several eating places. We enjoyed Freight Bar and Bistro just around the corner. Great stay in Ballarat. Thank you.”
Trish, May 2016

“Heritage Weekend. This was our second stay at The Menzies. The staff are friendly, welcoming and helpful, the rooms are clean and very well appointed with everything you could possibly need. The highlight was the extremely comfortable bed! We will definitely stay here again.”
Kaye, May 2016

“Family weekend. Had a lovely overnight stay in a family mezzanine room. Down stairs bunks and their own powder room, mezzanine was a lovely size with spa bath and shower over. Kitchenette was well set-up although we didn’t have to use it. Plumbing was a bit noisy but the suite was clean, and relatively quite. Driveway was a little tight our car scraped along a small part near the reception room. Will stay here again.

“Very Comfortable and Quiet. Situated on Bakery Hill, this motel was perfect for us. The room was so comfortable and clean, we really felt welcome, and best of all, the room was super quiet. With good restaurants very close by we couldn’t have asked for more. A complementary continental breakfast was included. Perfect!”

“Home away from home. We stayed at the Menzies for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean and well maintained. “Bliss in Ballarat. Check this hotel out if you want an ideally situated place to stay, we did have an upgraded room and was it was totally worth it with a spa bath and huge comfortable bed with crisp white sheets! Slept the best since leaving home.”
Pam, March 2016

“Great Place. Great location, well presented rooms but are a little expensive, has a Japenese restaurant attached which offers good food but small servings. Rooms are massive and kept very clean and tidy. Walking distance to a number of food outlets, pubs etc.”

“Would Defiantly Stay Again. Judy was very helpful and obliging as we were looking for a ground floor room (dodgy knees) for two nights. As she didn’t have a standard room we were offered a larger room at a discounted price. Room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Parking has no height restrictions so is suitable for vans and 4WDs. Judy was also willing to offer her knowledge of local restaurants and attractions. Great service, no complaints from us. Would definitely stay again.”
BeeGee, February 2016

“The Menzies in Ballarat has a great location. It was a quick over night stay, the room was spacious and clean. Although the room walls are very thin, i could hear people next door talking very clearly. Isn’t ideal for relaxation if you can hear your neighbours. Carpark is available on site which is a bonus with free wifi.”
Bubbles, November 2015

“We will be coming back again, awsome friendly service and our room was extremely clean and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in at a motel. Everything was excellent ? and the location was all walking distance to do a bit of shopping and plenty of eateries.”

Judy makes you feel at home from the minute you check in. Highly recommend you book a few nights at this hotel, you will not be disappointed.”
Sue, November 2015

“There are plenty of reviews to tell you how comfortable this hotel is, so hears a bit about its human side.
We had flown down from Brisbane to Melbourne and then driven up to Ballarat so we were a bit “travelled” out by the time we entered the reception at The Menzies. The lady owner (Judy, I think) quickly got us checked in, we were on the verge of going to settle in with a cup of tea and resting up when she set us up with a good Ballarat map and the assertion we should not miss the early evening sunshine and the Lake. Armed with her directions and the map, of we went to the Lake. What a treat, the road down revealed lots of examples of Ballarat’s Victorian architectural treasures and the Lake was beautiful. How nice to see people of all ages down there, rowing, running, cycling and, like us, strolling. Our walk took in the Botanics, the War Memorial, the Tramway Museum and the lakeside paths. By the time we got back we were completely refreshed after basking in the sunshine and popped into reception to say “You were right, the Lake was worth a visit”. Judy and her partner gave us a run down on what to see in Ballarat during the next day. How refreshing to feel the enthusiasm they have for this lovely old town, they passed that on to us and how we enjoyed the buildings and especially the glorious Art Gallery.
Owning and running a hotel is a big commitment and really hard work, valuing your customers as these 2 do shows through. Since being here, we have been to a hotel where, when we left, we said we would remember the place because, perversely, it was anonymous and so were we!
No such anonymity with The Menzies, fond memories, thank you. One night was too little, recommend 2 nights if your itinerary allows and you can see the places we had to miss, like the Gold Museum and Sovereign Fields”

“This motel is in a central but quiet location close to restaurants, shops and clubs. We were fortunate to have a newly refurbished room which was larger than most with a comfortable two-seater lounge, spacious kitchenette and a sparkling spacious bathroom. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in – such a bonus when you’ve travelled a long way. And to top it off free WIFI and a delicious continental breakfast. We would definitely recommend this motel and it would be our first choice for a repeat stay.”
Sheryl, November 2015

“Recently travelled to Ballarat with the family (2 adults, 2 kids), to see the Archibald Prize. Stayed in a great, what appeared to be recently renovated, family room (1 Queen and 2 Singles). Room was clean, spacious and roomy. We found the beds to be very comfortable and the doonas extremely warm (Ballarat gets pretty cold overnight, spare blankets provided as well). Kitchenette well stocked with crockery, glasses etc – microwave only, no stove. Good selection of products in the mini-bar. Full sized fridge. Walking distance to everything – Art Gallery, shops, restaurants etc. Early check-in which was a bonus. Hotel was at full capacity but there was minimal noise. Some might find the carpark a bit of a challenge.”
Stephanie, November 2015

“The Quality Inn & Suites The Menzies is welcoming and well presented. From it’s large, clean rooms to it’s central location, customers can’t help but feel indulged. Management believe it’s in the little things that you get repeat custom and happy clients, and that is certainly the case. Real milk is provided to make tea, coffee or chocolate. The rooms are well heated (or cooled, as needs be), and extra supplies are available if you run out of anything. We will certainly be staying again.

Sabrina, September 2015

“When you are greeted with a warm welcome and introduced to a warm spacious and comfortable room how can you not be impressed and pleased with your choice of accommodation. My type of work involves overnight stays approx. three to four times per week so I consider myself to be in a qualified position to judge one way or another. On late arrival on a very cold winters night I was so pleased to find the heater had been on and I was able to immediately commence some work on the computer while enjoying a percolated pod coffee very thoughtfully supplied as an extra bonus. The Menzies is conveniently located to all the Bakery Hill restaurants and hotels if required. I have returned to The Menzies four times since I first stayed beginning of this month. Highly recommend as very good value. Stayed July 2015, travelled on business”

“My husband and I were so impressed with the room and service at this hotel. Room was spacious and immaculately clean. Really comfy bed with electric blankets. Decent sized TV. Free Wifi. Kitchenette with full size fridge, microwave, sink and espresso machine. Great minibar selection. Nice bathroom products (Mor cosmetics which I love!). Small table and chairs and sofa. Location is very good – a 5 minute walk to the main street of Ballarat. Staff were friendly, with great recommendations for local eateries. I mentioned to Judy that it was my birthday and to my delight she snuck some chocolates and a lovely hand-written note on the bed while we were at dinner. A great experience and highly recommended!”

The service from booking to checkout has always been superb and the rooms are very comfortable. we arrived in the middle of winter when it was very cold outside, the air was on and we were always warm and comfortable in the room. we were visiting family so we didn’t get to try the breakfast as we were off to see the kids each day. The bed was very comfortable we slept well. Service and maintenance on the room was great. we simply had no problems to complain about. This is the best Ballarat has to offer. Stayed June 2015, travelled with family.”

“I stayed at the Menzies for 5 nights in March while attending a conference in Ballarat. My room was an Executive King Spa Suite and it was superb. The hosts are lovely and couldn’t be more welcoming or more attentive to detail. My room was gorgeous and absolutely pristine. The king sized bed was absolutely heavenly, the best I have ever slept in! The spa was so relaxing after a long day. The service at the hotel was amazing both before I arrived, and afterwards. The continental breakfast was hearty and delicious. Each day I arrived back to an immaculate room, which had a wonderful warm and welcoming feel. This is one of the best hotels I have had the privilege of staying in and there is nothing I could have asked to be improved upon. These guys have hit the nail on the head when it comes to providing amazing accommodation with outstanding service. I will be back for sure!! Thanks so much for a wonderful stay :)”

“Ballarat is always booked out…..we got our room at very short notice and were pleasantly surprised. A lovely family room, comfortable bed and quiet. We will put the Menzies on our list of affordable options for a stay in Ballarat.”

“Best location for drive in and drive out, best furnished rooms, best beds in town for comfort, best local knowledge, best advice for hairdresser!Female owner is a gem with your best interest at heart – well done and rarely offered today- you are my Choice of Choices ! Well Done. Stayed for the Cricket Australia local game and very accommodating.”

“It was a great weekend, we got a complimentary upgrade to a larger room with a very comfortable king bed. Great spa bath and nice air-con to keep us cool. Great location with lovely Japanese restaurant right next door. We will be back again for sure.”
Ruby, February 2015

“We stayed at the Quality Suites Menzies in Ballarat in January 2015. we were very pleased with the facilities and the staff. Great location, near shopping and dining, free was appreciated, not always available in other locations, like where we’re staying now”
Larry, February 2015

“The facilities, cleanliness and customer service at this place was top notch, would highly recommend. Large comfortable bed, excellent air con, well stocked kitchenette and easy accessible parking. We stayed whilst travelling from the Grampians to Melbourne and decided to stay here based on Trip Advisor and booking.com references and were not disappointed. Short walk from here to some good restaurants.”
Anna, January 2015

“We were welcomed by Judy who is just lovely we had been upgraded which was great. The rooms are exceptionally clean with everything you need for your stay. The bed quality is the best very comfortable infact so comfortable we are seriously thinking of buying one. No noise from outside either so you get the best restful sleep.  We would highly recommend this motel it has rooms for all budgets and the best host Judy. Thank you we will be back on our next trip to Ballarat.  Stayed December 2014, travelled as a couple”
Lawrence, December 2014

“I went there for a mid-week escape to celebrate my birthday, Judy welcomed us and followed up with a courtesy call within an hour to make sure everything was fine. I enjoyed using the spa bath, watching Foxtel and reading a book on the balcony, The Menzies is also conveniently located within walking distance of the city centre and is near some fine restaurants. I would definitely stay there again when I return to Ballarat.”
Melissa, December 2014

“Stayed before with family in 2013 and returned October 2014 for single night work trip. Quality of room and friendly sraff service was exactly how I remembered from first time. Could not recommend highly enough. Would not stay anywhere else in Ballarat.”
Paul, October 2014

“The warm welcome from the lovely Judy was just the start. She booked us into a great townhouse style apartment with master bedroom and spa ensuite upstairs. The kitchen was stocked with wonderful goodies as was the fridge. The cleanliness and attention to detail is second to none in this excellent abode. Our only regret was we were on a time schedule and couldn’t stay longer. A definite must to stay when in Ballarat. ”

“We have stayed at this motel a number of times over the years and through a number of owners. We almost always travel with our dog (who sleeps in the car) and have always let the owners know. Once again the current owners welcomed us.
The room was large and pleasantly decorated and there was excellent lighting unlike some motels. Everything was very clean and well appointed.
The location is perfect as there are lots of restaurants within walking distance. Interestingly it is also next to Prime Minister Robert Menzies’ old school.
Unfortunately we left a phone charger in the room when we left. We were thankful that the owner contacted us within hours and it was promptly posted to our home address. We really appreciated this.
We really look forward to staying at this motel again when we next visit Ballarat.”
Trudy, August 2014

“We stopped here overnight and from the lovely warm welcome we received from Judy we were only disappointed that we couldn’t stay longer. The townhouse we stayed in was just beautiful. The heater had been put on for us so was pleasantly warm on arrival. The beds and pillows were so comfortable making it hard to get out of. The spa bath finished off the luxury of this unit. I would highly recommend these units and thank you Judy & Anthony for a wonderful stay.”

“My partner and I stayed at the Menzies for three nights last year and we will be returning again next month. We stayed in the Menzies suite, the room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was very nice also. The service was excellent and the managers, Judy and Anthony were very friendly and accommodating. The location is central to the city and we were able to walk to get our groceries and dinner. Overall a great place to stay in Ballarat. Room Tip: Get the double spa, you wont regret it!”
Jarryd, August 2014

“We stayed here for two nights. Judy (manager) is very hands on and she called me prior to arrival to ask how old my toddler is so she can decide which room to upgrade us to based on our needs. It worked out really well because the family suite that I originally booked didn’t have a separate bedroom which is what we wanted but the king spa suite that we got upgraded to had it so my toddler was able to sleep well at night. We had complimentary breakfast as well that came with a promotional two night stay they were doing. It was convenient having the breakfast delivered the night before so we can have breakfast the next morning at our own leisure. The room was nice and warm despite the outdoor temperatures being around 1-8 degrees and the location of the hotel is fantastic, being walking distance from bridge mall (centre of the city) and near many good restaurants. We would be delighted to stay here if we visit Ballarat again.”
Faith, July 2014

“Large and warm rooms, Big bathroom, Big comfy beds. I travel a lot and find it hard to find motel rooms that stay warm. Friendly hosts, Will certainly stay there again. Close to the city centre and Mall.”
Neil, July 2014

“I stay in many different motels on a regular basis, and I found The Menzies to standout from all others. Beautifully appointed and the hosts went out of their way to accommodate out needs. The room was immaculate with all the very best furniture and fittings. I found that although the location is right in the centre of town the traffic noise was not noticeable.”

“I have stayed many times over the last 7 years, mainly for business, but keep coming back because of the personal service Judy & Anthony provide. They have always accommodated my needs, as my notice & check in & out times can vary greatly. Rooms are well appointed, with plenty of room to work at the provided desk & space to relax on the comfortable couches.

Centrally located with only a short walk to the many restaurants of Ballarat.
Thoroughly recommend the Menzies.”
Chris, July 2014

“As a family we decided to go on a road trip holiday taking us through Ballarat heading to the 12 Apostles. Two nights were pre booked at the Menzies with a plan to see some of the local attractions. On arrival at reception we were warmly greeted by Judy, who happily spent some time acquainting us with the local area and recommending places to eat. She had also turned the air conditioners to warm our accommodation prior to checking in (A nice touch appreciated by all as it was a cold and wet day). Those with a larger vehicle will find the parking tight but not impossible to get into. The Motel on the outside is tidy, well-presented and situated in the heart of Ballarat with easy access to local attractions and shopping. The family room we stayed in was as advertised, with upstairs accommodation for the adults and a Spa to boot!! Kids were downstairs in the bunk beds. For those wanting to cook their own meals the room also had a small kitchen. The room was very clean and provided two comfortable nights in location. On Judy’s recommendation we ate at a local Italian/pizza place known as ‘The Forge Pizzeria’; great spot to eat and family friendly. Might pay to book a table … we struck it lucky and snagged a table for 4 on walking in. Should we pass through this area again, we would stay here again. Only a 5 minute drive to Sovereign Hill … also highly recommend planning a day or two here.”
Scott, July 2014

“I have stayed at the Menzies many times, both business and personal, and the experience has been brilliant every time. I have always been treated with nothing but courtesy and respect. I would not stay any where else, and I would recommend this accommodation to anyone that are wanting a great experience when staying in Ballarat.”
Samantha, July 2014

“I’ve been a regular guest for the last few years & I have never had any issues. Anthony & Judy are very accommodating to my needs. Breakfasts are the best eggs! the property is very well maintained and clean”
Rhonda, June 2014

“I found the accommodation excellent, nice, clean and spacious fully stocked fridge if that’s your thing. The staff provided excellent service and great restaurant advice Lots of good restaurants and fast food outlets within walking distance. I would highly commend the Menzies to all travellers staying in Ballarat on business or pleasure.”
Wayne, June 2014

“We regularly stay at the Menzies when we visit Ballarat and they never fail to disappoint. The room is always spotlessly clean and the staff provide first-class customer service. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The location is handy to shops, restaurants, bars and cafes – they do have an on-site restaurant also but we have never tried this. I would definitely recommend this hotel.”
Lea & Anthony, June 2014

“There are three things we look for when looking for a motel:
1 -Spotlessly Clean
2- Great Bed
3- Quiet.
You will find all this and more at the Menzies. The room was a really good size close to double the size of many motel rooms. Good little kitchen area including a full size fridge and a microwave. Bathroom also a good size not one of those dark pokey little rooms you find in many motels and a good size shower. The bed was fantastic, one of the pillow top bed even the pillows were good ! very rare in motels. Immaculately clean, lots of hot water, good size flat screen TV and not a sound was heard all night. Looks up market from the outside and this was definitely reflected on the inside. Only small negative is parking, its tight, very tight, but we did see another large parking area to the right of the rooms and i think next time we will be parking up on that flat parking area.”

“Stayed here unexpectedly and we were very happy. New beds and I slept like a queen. Breakfast was nice and everything you wanted was in the room. Will stay again if I go that way. Never heard any traffic and liked having a separate bedroom in suite.”
Prue, March 2014

“As a last minute plan we decided to stay in Ballarat for the (very busy) long weekend. The Menzies owners did everything possible to accommodate us, which included a power wheelchair user. The family/disability suit was to a high standard and very well designed. Friendly and helpful staff all round and happy to help. Had a very enjoyable trip and would be happy to recommend The Menzies to anyone with a disability. Couldn’t be happier with the service, accommodation or location. Thanks again for a fantastic weekend.”
Emma, March 2014

Upon arriving at reception – I was greeted very warmly and immediately felt happy and comfortable. My room was really large, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable, and the towels were plush. My hot breakfast was delivered to my room – it was delicious and presented beautifully. I can highly recommend Quality Inn & Suits The Menzies with Judy and Anthony as lovely hosts – I will certainly be back. Thank you.

We liked the quietness of the complex and its surroundings – although close to the road, there was no traffic noise. The owners were very helpful with all requests. Great to have kitchenette facilities for do-it- yourself breakfast. The bathroom and shower were very roomy.
