How many rooms can I book if I am a Choice Privileges member?
You can book as many rooms as you like! However, as long you are a Choice Privileges member you are only allowed to reserve two rooms under your name to gain points at any one time, plus you must be in attendance.
How much are local calls from the room?
Local calls are complimentary. All other calls are timed and charged to your room.
Do you have a DVD player?
Yes. Players need to be reserved and are hired on a nightly basis.
Is there carparking available?
Yes. Free on-site parking is available to guests. If guests have more than one car or drive a large vehicle, off-street parking is available adjacent to Reception – also on The Menzies property.
Is there a Dry Cleaning / laundry service available?
The Menzies offers a same day laundry service. Please ensure laundry is in Reception by 9:00am for same day service. Laundered garments will be delivered to your room.
Is there a Guest Laundry?
Yes – commercial coin operated machines are available for guest use. Washing power is complimentary.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in at the hotel is from 2:00pm. Access to your room cannot be guaranteed prior to 2pm unless prior arrangements are in place. Check-out is up to 10.00am. Late check-out requests must be made in advance. A surcharge will apply if a late checkout is not pre-arranged. We can hold your luggage should you arrive earlier than 2.00pm.
Where can I store my luggage?
Early arrivals can leave luggage at Reception until room is ready for access. On the day of departure guests can leave luggage at Reception for collection later in the day.
What is the distance from the airport?
Melbourne International Airport is approximately 100 km from the motel – 1 .5hrs.
What are the transport options available from the airport?

How far is the Train Station from The Menzies?
The Ballarat station is approximately 700mtrs from The Menzies. A taxi service is available from the station or it is a pleasant 10 minute walk in an easterly direction along Mair Street, turn right into Humffray Street and The Menzies is a further 50mtrs on the right, next to the Antique Centre.
Is there a ‘chargeback’ facility in place with nearby restaurants?
For the convenience of our Corporate guests, The Menzies has in place a ‘chargeback’ arrangement with a selection of first class restaurants offering a variety of cuisines and price points. All are within easy walking distance. Please don’t hesitate to ask at checkin.
What is the cost for additional person and rollaway bed?
Room rate is based on occupancy by one or two people. Children between 0 – 15 years old stay free of charge when accompanied by an adult using existing bedding. Extra guests aged 16 and over sharing the same room with two people using existing bedding are chared $30.00 p/n: Rollaway is $30.00 p/n additional fee. A special combined rate of $50.00 applies for extra person including a rollaway bed per night. Child cot: $15.00 p/n.
